September News:

Now that the festivities and events of August are behind us, HGF is settling into a much quieter month as we enjoy the cooler temperatures of early fall in Michigan. The 2008 foals are quite big now and spending very little time with their mothers. The mares have been re-bred and we have a wonderful line-up of new breedings for 2009 featuring our young and brilliant bay stallion, Bolero CXLVIII . (For more information Bolero's bloodlines and recent championships and scores, see his page under Stallions .)

In the first week or so of this month, we've watched several hurricanes swirl around uncomfortably close to the East coast of Florida, but so far luck has been on our side--even during the tornados spawned by Faye that tore through the Palm Beach Equine Clinic, which is practically in our backyard. Barring further hurricane activity, things are shaping up for an outstanding WEF season, and rumor has it that this season will set new records for participation in all the representative horse sports. Reservations for HGF stalls are now finalizing for the 2009 Wellington Season. If you are interested in renting a stall at Hampton Green Farm in Wellington this winter, please call ASAP our property manager Marc Ulanowski at 815-861-3559.

Finally, HGF is proud to stand behind Courtney through the recent difficult days and, along with the USEF and the general dressage community, we fully expect the proper authorities to clear her name soon of the allegations that arose during the Olympic games.

October schedule coming soon, including Martin Schaudt visit and our travel dates for Wellington . . .

Attention Breeders:

Dr. Ira Engeltjes from the West Michigan Veterinary Clinic in Coopersville, MI, has been officially approved by ANCCE to conduct Inscriptions for the PRE Stud Book. For those of you within our area with young PREs to be inscribed, please be aware that this process is now available to you by a local veterinarian and may be conducted by appointment. Please contact Dr. Ira or our ANCCE Delegate Alexander Zilo (alexanderzilo@hotmail.com) for more information.

Attention Dressage Riders of PRE Horses:

Participation in the USDF All Breeds Program is available to you through membership in USPRE, however you have only 21 days left to register for the program and have your 2008 scores count toward these awards. For more information, see the USPRE website at www.usprea.com.

Dressage at Devon:

Hampton Green Farm will sponsor again this year the newly-enhanced "Dressage with the Experts" audio programme. HGF will not be presenting horses this year at Devon, but we'll be there, as will HGF stallion Grandioso III with his rider, Olympian Courtney-King Dye. If you happen to be at the show this year, look for Courtney and Grandioso in the schooling ring during the Performance days.
