Bolero CXLVIII
Bolero is a 2004 imported bay stallion with superb bloodlines for movement and performance. He is a son of Utrerano VII and half brother to Fuego XII, who is currently the top-ranked PRE in dressage in Spain and in Europe. Bolero favors his sire Utrerano in appearance: bay with white points and at four years old he is already 16 hands and solidly built with three strong gaits. His dam is by Urano II of the Yeguada Marin Garcia, and carries the same champion bloodlines of Sevillano/Albero II as HGF's Grandioso, Cuatrero, Adelante, Seductora and Quintera.
This breeding is unique (as the stallion Utrerano was purchased shortly after by Estirpe Cardenas and is now used exclusively for Cardenas mares) and a dream pairing for dressage performance. In 2007, at three years old, Bolero was shown in three large morphology competitions in the Malaga region: At SACAB-COIN where was finished Fifth of thirty-one horses and won Best Movement; at Ronda where he was placed First both in Morphology and in Best Movement; and in Equimediterranea where he finished Fourth of fifteen horses and was a close second in Movement. We are very excited to announce his arrival at Hampton Green and look forward to his work for us in the competition arena as well as a breeding stallion. His first offspring will be on the ground in 2009.
After a very successful year in 2010 competing to Second Level, and winning the USDF All Breeds Award for Open First Level with a median score over 70%, Bolero was purchased by Mr. and Mrs. Cludies Sharpe.
