Idilio II

Idilio II is a 16.3 hand 1995 grey stallion, imported from Spain in 1999. He has been trained to Grand Prix in the United States and has been competed at that level in Region 2 and Wellington with scores above 65%. In 2002, Idilio returned to Spain and qualified for both the SICAB Copa ANCCE at Prix St. George/Intermediate I and the SICAB Stallion Finals, Section 12, where he finished in the top 20 horses. He was Reserve Champion Senior Stallion at Concab Granada, and has also won numerous morphology and movement awards in the United States.

He has a broad range of motion in all his gaits, is photographed for numerous websites and publications, and has been described as “poetry in motion”. He has received scores upwards of 70% through Intermediate II, and has received scores in the mid-60s consistently as a green Grand Prix horse. In his first year at Grand Prix in Wellington in 2007, he finished second and fourth in two large open shows, and will look to enter the international arena in 2008. He is the top sire for Hampton Green Farm, and is the father to Idolo Americano, 2007 Champion American-Bred Stallion the Devon Breed Show.

Following some time off, Idilio returned to the show ring in 2008 and 2009 with Maria Lithander in the Small Tour, with scores as high as 72%. He was ranked in the top 15 PSG horses in the United States in 2009, and in 2010 was Fifth and Sixth in a highly competitive Region Two Championships at PSG and Inter I respectively. In 2011, he is being trained and ridden by Mica Mabragana of Argentina, who will be showing him at the International level to qualify for the Pan American Games.
