HGF Offers COSACO XI for Outside Breedings
After many years of turning down requests for stallion services, we are pleased to announce that we will now offer breedings to Cosaco XI beginning this spring. Cosaco was regretfully retired this year from all dressage competition, and will now begin his new role of professional breeding stallion.
Cosaco XI is an imported 16 hand 1996 grey stallion, approved for breeding by the Cria Caballar in Spain. Cosaco had a brief but notable career as one of the first PRE stallions to compete at Grand Prix in the United States. In 2006, he was USDF All Breeds Horse of the Year at the Grand Prix level with a median score of over 65%. He is classic in type, with special aptitude for piaffe and passage--receiving a 10 for piaffe his first year at Grand Prix.
He has a gentle, affectionate personality, a moderate temperament under saddle, and can be handled by an amateur or child. He knows the difference between the schooling and show rings, and enjoys rising to the occasion of competition. (His scores and awards are listed on his webpage under Stallions.)
He is a favorite among dressage spectators and photographers, who have used his image on websites, articles, numerous publications and advertisements. Cosaco’s offspring are exceptional, in both conformation and movement. There are a number of them on the ground at HGF, and all who have been x-rayed for pre-purchase have shown clean radiographs.
This is the first time that Hampton Green Farm has offered one of its performance stallions for outside breedings, and HGF stands by the quality of the stallion and his ability to improve dressage performance potential in any breed.
